Experience the joy and love as Melissa & Nathan say 'I do' on their special day. Get all the details about the travel recommendations here.
To start your journey to our wedding, you first have to take an international flight to Tocumen International Airport in Panama City, Panama (PTY). All major airlines have flights there as it is a hub for travelers from all over the world and the Americas.
We recommend using miles, points or any rewards available and booking with as much time in advance as possible to guarantee the best rates. Melissa uses Copa Airlines the most as it is a member of Star Alliance and basically the same as United Airlines, however, Delta, American Airlines, Spirit and many other airlines fly to PTY often times a day. It all depends what airport you're flying from!
If you're in Florida, and can drive to the Miami Airport, there are flights to Panama for about $200-$300 roundtrip! So look up nearby airports to your location to find the best deal!
American citizens do NOT need a Visa to enter Panama, as long as they booked a returning flight to the US within 3 months of the arrival date.
In Panama City we recommend getting Airbnbs as they are not expensive and you can be located in the center of the city with ocean views. You can also see some city hotel recommendations under the "Accommodations" tab.
To move around, Uber is pretty reliable and economic. Most rides are about $5 or less anywhere in the main city.
After a few days in the city (for those able and willing to discover the city with us), the next stop would be taking flight from Panama City to David, Chiriqui, but NOT all leave from the main airport. Flights to David, Chiriqui, leave from BOTH Tocumen International Airport AND the regional airport Marcos A. Gelabert which is by the Canal Zone. It depends what airline you choose.
Depending on the international airline you are using to leave from, you might be able to book a flight straight to David, Chiriqui (with layover). Always check your options and that's why flying Copa Airlines is best!
The airlines that fly to David are Copa Airlines, Wingo and Air Panama. Roundtrips are about $117 per person but note these are smaller planes and you have to pay for checked luggage separately. Carry-ons have special requirements (backpack size) so a carry-on luggage would count as a checked bag. They also book FAST so secure your flight as soon as possible. You could also drive but it would take at least 7 hours to get there and there's nothing to see on the main road so it isn't a "scenic" route.
Our recommendation would be to book Copa Airlines as those are the newest/best planes. Flight time from the City to David is about 50 minutes.
Once you book your flight, please email us your itinerary to marxfam1330@gmail.com so we can provide you with transportation options depending on the date and time of your arrival to David.
